Cory Aquino apologized to Erap; Noynoy Aquino said it was just a joke

Dear mouse,
I do not like politics but please I have to rant on this.
I was an admirer of Cory Aquino. My mother and sister were in the EDSA I during the blood less revolution. My sister was very proud being a Filipino.

I started losing this admiration when she could not control her celebrity daughter from being involved in married men.

Her star lost more its shine because of their Hacienda Luisita human rights violation.

When she apologized to Erap yesterday for her role in EDSA 2, it made me think that she had become megalomaniac. She thought that it was she who toppled Erap?

She could have stopped when she was still on top. But talking for and in behalf of people whose moral virtues are questionable, she has lost her credibility.

maybe a political move on her part? the elections are coming, and being “bati” with the right people will still put her in a sweet spot.

Cory, hmmm, what a very sad life she had even if they have Millions and hectares of land. But for me, I’m sure she prayed a lot when Kris was on her dark days, I don’t blame Cory, but sometimes the people Kris was with was not really her friends, they just let her do things even if they know that it will hurt her. a lot of them are just taking advantage of her since she have money

just arrived and read it on the inquirer and i was like… puuulleezzzeee! waaa hapen?! hahaah!

  4. KittyJoy says:

Perhaps it is due to senility or chemo? Just asking. Or taking her revenge on Gloria for losing Hacienda Luisita?

  5. Lee says:

sigh, yan ang politika makakapal dapat ang mukha kasi kundi makapal ang mukha at sikmura e di ka nababagay.
    haaay buhay nga naman.

    Mahalia,
She attributed her presence in that launching of the J de Venecia’s book to Gina de Venecia, the wife of the disgruntled Speaker of the House

But asking for an apology as if she has done a lot in the toppling of Erap, is beyond me. We know how it happened. She was not even there. She was not the Muse.

There were plenty of ladies who were brave enough to stand and witness without the pomposity and hypocrisy of those who were called as witnesses in the Senate investigations.

    One was Clarissa Ocampo.
Ocampo’s revelations helped spark mass protests that forced Estrada to quit in favor of Vice-President Gloria Arroyo in January.

    lcm,
It is a matter of disciplining her. She made use of her turbulent love life to become the menu for the month by the media.

Celebrities try hard to hide their immoralities to the public by requesting the media to keep it secret.

She on the other hand revealed whatever should be kept in her medical records.

  8. Cathy says:

    reyna elena,
panay kasi ang kain mo sa cooking ina. hahaha

  9. Dinah says:

nakakawindang di ba? hindi ko alam kung ano ang iisipin ko sa balitang ito.

  10. Cathy says:

    kitty,
your right on that about hacienda luisita. I think it was the start.

Another is about political rivalry in Tarlac. It used to be dominated by the Cojuangcos before GMA became president.

Do you know that except for Lupita, the other Aquinos distanced themselves from the Cojuangcos?

  11. Cathy says:

    lee,
the reason why corruption in the PHilippines can not be stopped is because of this. One pardoned him, the other one asked for an apology, all in the spirit of reconciliation but what message do they convey to the people and the youth. Crime does not pay.

  12. KittyJoy says:

She should concentrate on recovering from her illness and enjoying her life away from politics. Unfortunately for her, her influence in politics is not that strong anymore – still “relevant” but not anymore. BTW, Gordon and other politician mostly from the Left (Lisa Masa et. al.) chided her from making that apology.

Pasintabi lang po Cat if I might offend people regarding this remark. This is solely a personal opinion – not due to the influence of waiting time to go home and have a very very long vacation (hahahahaha!!!).

  13. reyna elena says:

    and before anything else,

merry christmas nga pala. wish you all the best of all the best and happy holidays pa!

    and please.

    there is nothing to apologize.

    hahahaha!

  14. CtrlFrk says:

is this the result of her chemo? cory is effin’ ridiculous. even if GMA did not turn out to become the president that we wanted after the revolution, i will never ever regret being a part of EDSA II… and definintely, will not apologize to erap for that.

    cory has lost it. :-(

  15. Cathy says:

    dinah,
    nakakapanghinayang si cory.

  16. Cathy says:

    kitty,
there are political debts to pay. si gina de venecia, mahilig sipsip kaya lahat ng pulitiko may utang na loob sa kaniya.

  17. Cathy says:

    ctrlfrk,
totoo yan. it does not mean that if GMA disappointed people, EDSA 2 will already considered a mistake.

  18. Cathy says:

    reyna,
    merry christmas din saiyo.

  19. Dfish says:

I thought there was something egotistic about the apology and very disrespectful of the moral intelligence of those who believe and risk their time at EDSA DOS – simple but sincere voices like me and my batchmates thinking that the Erap vices were already a thorn of Philippine democracy. The bad breath is the apology has to be voiced over on Christmas. Shocks! Really, a season’s bummer when I’m supposed to spa myself with angelic thoughts! Cory should now slip into some contemplative corner and bask in the light of the silent encounter with the Healer, instead of still thinking herself as the political poster woman of influence. You use megalomaniac – I guess this is now the devil’s offer for a face in the paper bill, for self-importance. Geez! Napahaba tuloy. Tigil na ako. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  20. Cathy says:

    dfish,
i agree with you. thanks for the comment and Merry Christmas too.
