Dear mouse,
I am shocked. My brain can not put together what I want to write. My friend who suffered for months due to his relationship with a Filipina had been duped too.
I stumbled upon this website (no link please) which accused several people to be in cahoots with her lady love in scamming him. I read the story, his suspicions, his attempts to get the facts and his last ditch to save the relatioship. I read the story of the girl too complete with the video. While watching the video, I searched for a related topic on how to detect if a person is lying thru her body language, facial expression and tone of the voice. The signs were there.
I can not believe that several bloggers would claim that they are reshaping the image of the
Filipinas by featuring this woman in their blogs while calling the British guy paranoid.
But before I get into that, let me tell you about the story of my friend who is now having a problem with another girl friend she met in the internet who constantly mentions financial assistance and emotionally blackmails him when he ignores the hints.
First a prologue. I’ve been participating in advocacies which I think is worthy to be supported.
Early in my blogging, I joined atemanang, a Filipina married to a Caucasian to help publish the cause of a Filipina who was domestically abused and was deported back to the Philippines by the husband because the latter did not work on his papers to legalize her stay as a wife of a US citizen.
I had a heated debate with an expat in the Philippines about his subtle promotion of Filipinas as commodities in his article. He was so angry that he devoted several articles about me calling me names in his
e-magazine that is supposed to be for business articles . HAHAHA. I saved that for posterity.
He namedropped several powerful people to scare me, his editor, a business tycoon in the Philippines, some professors in a business school and he trumpeted his credentials of teaching in the Graduate School. He belittled me not knowing my personal and academic background. His bullshit did not faze me at all. That thread was closed after several trolls he used to intimidate me self destructed.
In the US, I helped domestically abused Filipinas married to Caucasian husbands. One died after severe beatings. She could not divorce the husband. Her papers were still pending. She did not know that she could have petitioned herself under battered-wife reason for petition without having to wait for husband to sign any documents.
One disappeared to escape from the husband who strangled her, abused her without leaving body marks so she could not bring him to the authorities.
BUT TO TAKE UP THE CAUSE OF this lady (link not provided) WHO was accused of psychological extortion by the lover to RESHAPE IMAGE OF FILIPINAS, excuse me?
What Filipino moral values are we promoting in this case ?
To be continued…

Advocacy or COntroversy

Just a clarification. The FilipinaImages.com is an SEO campaign, meaning to create a balance in the search engine results that not all sites that show up in search engines are Filipina Dating sites. That’s what we mean…Anyway, Please read the site to know more of the strategy. We didn’t take up the cause of the girl to reshape the Filipina image online. It was because of the British guy who flooded the internet with lies about innocent people.
Anyway, It started here
http://filipinaimages.com/conned-by-a-filipina/
and from there the British guy started to accuse us as scammers just because we thought it wasn’t a scam. The FilipinaImages.com readers were accused of being scammers as well.
The interview shows two things. Her side of the story, and ” a wake-up call for all the financially challenged Filipino women out there, who wish to have a better life by signing up in dating sites with high hopes of meeting their knights in shining armor from the West just to escape poverty.”
The interview was just another story among all stories contributed by the authors. Stories can be positive or negative.
I did. I am aware of the objective because when this project was being promoted I too started a blog entitled Global Pinay formerly known as Filipina-Ilaw ng Tahanan. I featured the Filipinas who gave honor to the country.
That is how I understand about balance. To put up blogs that showcase positive images of Filipinas that would show in the search engines when the keywords Pinay, Filipina instead of the dating sites.
It is not about presenting the negative and the positive stories in a blog where the main emphasis should be more on the positive.
I did. And this is the first that i read which supports the contents of my blog.
So to what strategy does this presentation of the video and story fall?
The British guy’s blog started October 2007, the date of the entry in the Filipinaimage was February. The blog title does not mention anything about Filipinas. It was about hospital scam so that reading the title alone, the readers will think that it is all about hospital.
If the story was not picked up by the Filipinaimage, it would not be brought to the attention of the readers.
Readers who are intelligent to understand how a hospital and embassy operate when it comes to handling of information/inquiry would not totally believe the blogger’s suspicions.
One strategy to discourage traffic from this kind of website is not to link.
What I saw was that all the blogs of the British guy were linked in several websites including that of your own real estate blog ?
Am i right to believe that the intention of publishing the side of the woman
was not really to serve as a wake-up call but to help colleagues in the real estate business to clear their names as to their involvement . As I have said, there is no need for that. intelligent readers would clearly see the role played by the owner of the real estate agency and the friends.
I bow down to the woman with a great mind! The CAT it is you I am talking about not the other commenter who does not look around her backyard and the mirror prior to attacking her neighbors. I look forward to reading more of your entries.
thanks miss pinkbiik.
