Dear mouse,
continuation…
First, I do not believe that the hospital and the real estate agency and the doctors were involved in a scam. I do not believe however that there was exploitation of the Filipina by the British lover.
So back to my question? What image of a Filipina was presented in featuring her in the blog with the video? that of lying? that of deception?
For them to be okay again, Tim urged her to just admit that she was not telling the truth. How could she say that? She claims she told the truth to Tim. Her only lie was that she was going home to the province and visit her mom.
How did the British guy found out that she was not in the province that she claimed where she was. The IP address revealed her location and one blogger disputed this in his blog. Tapos aaminin din pala.
That of asking money from a lover?
She did ask for money for her new boarding house rental and internet cafe bills because she took up his offer that whenever she needed help, she should just ask him. She needed financial help from Tim.
Did the video presentation of the blogger gained sympathy from viewers. Did it exonerate the people accused of scam?
The video presentation is not needed to show that the hospital is not involved in the scam.
The billing showed that it was official business on their part. What will they gain from a mere US$ 2,000? Besides, the British has no obligation to pay that money. It is evident that the name of the real estate agency got involved because it was the employer of the lady and the owner generously paid for the down payment. The matter was between the lady and her lover. The lover was demanding for truth and evidences which is but normal for a person who is releasing hard-earned money.
Did it teach a moral lesson?
I do not think so. First it is a glowering truth that the relationship is wrong from the very beginning. The guy is married. I am not trying to be a moralist here. I do not care if people will involve themselves in extramarital affair. As long as they do not flaunt it in public and for a blog to say that the only fault of the Filipina is falling in love we better decriminalize adultery and concubinage.
Why I got interested in this story?

So back to my question? What image of a Filipina was presented in featuring her in the blog with the video? that of lying? that of deception?
You are confusing the site’s goals with the purpose of the interview.
Also…
It was not my place to chastise her about her values ..why she lied. why she asked money. I am sure she learned her lesson. The interview was not even there to search for truth.
The purpose of the interview was to tell her story. Tim placed almost 30 blogs and videos on her alleged scam. I felt it was unfair just to have one side of the story. I leave it to the readers to decide what they thought of her story.
A goal is like a tree. its components, the branches, the leaves and the roots support its sustenance.
In the same manner as to the blog. If the blog’s goal is to showcase positive image of a Filipina, why include a story about someone who was accused of deception and lies by the lover? Not unless, the intent is to clear her name?
It is just like saying, your song is out of sync with the rhythmn.
Would you not just present something positive? You want to counter the negative impact of the blogs of the British guy but the video is nothing but a confirmation of his accusation as to her lies–her admission , her eye movements, her facial expression and her voice. tsssk tsssk.
Whew this story is indeed complicated than the DJ Montano hoolabaloo.
Of course I am for Mayen because she’s a Filipina. But there are still many questions that lingers on my mind.
At this point, I will reserve my judgment pending my reading of other blogs involved.
But I just want to ask because I got confused in this statement of Mrs. Noemi:
“The interview was not even there to search for truth.”
if the interview was not really intended for truth, then what is it for?
I don’t want to say it’s just for traffic or for sensationalism. But I think as a blogger, the main purpose of writing an issue (as complicated and as confusing as this) must be to uphold the truth. We blog because we want to know the truth and not patronize, justify culpabilities or sugarcoat indiscretions . If we blog just for the sake of awareness, then let’s just leave the matter to the “True” media people, either way they will uphold the truth whether we like it or not, and they can give more justice to the story based on facts.
I’m not saying that I’m questioning the purpose of the interview or the capability of the interviewer, but to say that it is not there to search for truth, I think, in my own opinion, we just used Mayen for our vested interest and did her more harm than good. as well as other Filipinas around the world. We can defend her better if we are on truth’s side.
just my two cents.
“The tree shall be known by its fruits”.
@bluep
I think Ms. Noemi has already answered that.
bluep,
sad to say, to some traffic is the motivation.
@Jepoy
Exactly my point! Not all questions are meant to be interrogative…
Have a nice day!
@Jepoy,
BTW, if the purpose of the interview is to tell the side of Mayen’s story, and that the “The interview was not even there to search for truth”., isn’t it contradicting since if one person should ask the story of the other, then it should always be based on truth alone lest we are just spinning the readers’ head?
I will appreciate it if Noemi herself can answer this time, because none of us were born to have the honor of being the ass of balaam.

@Cath, very sad indeed…
