Dear mouse,
I found this link via brownpau.
Online romance where ladies become victims of Lotharios.
This is not only a warning for lovestruck 30′s ladies who made a resolve that they will get hitched before they jumped out of the calendar but also for those who have already begun their lives at 40.
The money that these online suitors may have bilked from a victim range from a few thousands to millions. Since there are many romantic fools who easily fall for men who use that routine, SEDUCE, SEND FLOWERS and SCAM SWEETHEART, the amount may be staggering.
A single lady friend fell for a sweet talking guy in a…
chat room. It turned out that he just lived nearby. They became friends. Flowers and chocolates…books…poems.. Dinner almost every other night. Then he brought her to his home. She knew that the guy was from another state and he was in South Cali for the construction jobs that their corporation asked him to oversee.
That explained his sparsely furnished apartment. Weekends, he usually visited his mother (according to him). His cell phone was always off during weekends so he could not be reached. His mother was bedridden and she wanted all his attention.(parang hindi na maganda ang aking naririnig. Tunog na hello, sinong lolokohin mo ?) But my friend was really in love that she won’t talk to me when I called. Hige.
Then my friend was sent by the company to the state/ city where the guy came from. She didn’t tell him. She wanted it as a surprise. She got a landline phone from his phone book when he was not looking. (Kala ko pa naman talaga tinapon na niya ng yutak niya).
She called up the number. A woman answered and said Honey, phone….
Back to her place, she waited for his call. Nothing. She called up his cell phone. Voice mail then later, number is no longer in service.
She went to his place. The apartment is not his. Bakit ba hindi niya napansin yon. Wala ngang kapersonal personal na bagay siya doon.
I did not nag her. Hindi ko sinampal sampal ang sangkatutak niyang certificate sa mga attendance niya sa sangkatutuak na seminar.
Hanggang ngayon, miss pa po siya at lalong sumungit.

What an anecdote, Cath. Online men aren’t reliable at all..most of them just play games. But I wonder why women still fall for them hook, line and sinker. Hindi pa nakontento..nag aadvertise pa ang mga bebot ng kanilang availability sa cyberspace, bwahahaha
A pleasant Sunday morning from Manila
What ajay said is right. It’s not really reliable to meet with someone from cyberspace.
I remember one Asian lady who left her 2 young kids to fend for themselves in their apartment, while she crossed the country to meet her cyber husband-to-be. But once there he changed his mind. Ouch! Then back home she was charged with child endangerment. Ay, saklap.
fencesitter,
she vowed to be single forever because of that.
