Yuga, the master of the universe eheek,
the man behind the many popular blogs came up with the list of Technorati’s top Philippine blogs.
Me, The Ca t analyzed the data as to the profiles of the bloggers in
terms of locations, gender and categories of blogs. My objective? Wala
lang.
Hoke, let’s see the first table.
Acshually, yuga has 99 blogs only. Missing one blog.
Table 1 shows the distribution of the blogs according to location.

Out of 99 blogs, there are 79 Philippine based while 20 are scattered
in other world continents. Hmmm at this point, shall I say that
there are more prolific bloggers from the Philippines?
Table 2 shows the different continents/countries where these bloggers
that landed to the top 100 ermm 99 are based.

Half of the 20 blogs are US based while the remaining
50 per cent are distributed to Europe with two;
Middle East with one; Canada, with two; Australia with
three and two are in Asian countries other than the
Philippines.
The OFWs and or immigrants are too busy to blog
seriously.
Table 3 shows the distribution of blogs according to the
gender of the owners.

On the overall, the male bloggers outnumber the females.
From the Philippines, there are 20 females as against
56 males . The remaining 3 or 3 per cent are for institutional
or team blogs that do not have specific gender. Outside the Philippines,
female bloggersappear to be more active than the male counterparts.
There are fourteen that constitutes 70 per cent of
the total. Huh!!!
As to the question what types of blogs are in the top 99,
only the Philippine-based fall in different categories since
the non-Philippine-based blogs are journals of the Filipino’s
experiences in the foreign lands.
Table 4 shows the distribution of Philippine- blogs according
to categories.

Out of 79 blogs, ten are politics-oriented; five or 6 per cent
are in the entertainment; 4 are in cooking or home related
topics and the rest are journals discussing variuos issues/topics
subjects.
By the way the basis of the list is the number of links in one’s blog.
But checking the Top Pinoy blogs, one should notice that blogs
in the Top Technorati blogs are also ranking in this website
where the basis is the unique hits.

btw, if i remember right, kaya siguro naging 99 kasi ni-drop ni yuga yung site nya so as not to skew the rankings. i read it his comment #28.

until i find a good APi to automate yung technorati rankings, i will try to update the list/ranks weekly lang.

I notice walang category ang education. I assume kasama sya sa miscellaneous. I think marami-rami rin ang nasa field ng education na nagba-blog although mukhang hindi parating tungkol sa education ang dini-discuss sa kani-kanilang blog, like me.
