My recently pink-slipped-friend-who-just-bought-a-lap-top computer was whining.
She used the trial version of a software to type her resume and cover letter and tried to print them. Nada. Her printer is not compatible with the software. Don’t ask me. I also do not know.
Either she is pressured to buy the software or the printer. I suggested that she just writes them in long hand. hehehe
For weeks now, she is applying on-line. She wants to try the ads which require hard copies of the application letters.
I asked her if she can apply in the retail outlet where her husband is able to get a job.
She said that the salary is just minimum wage for entry level.
Her husband is on the linear motion products section so he gets higher than the minimum.
I thought linear means he has to do a lot of measurement. Clueless me.
To make me understand what those products are, she reminded me of a neighbor who is into construction, renovation and plumbing projects.
In the meantime, I adviced her to go to the nearest library where there may be free printing services.

my wife’s company was sold. she was there for 29 years and the new management called her and asked her if she wants to stay. the new management also explained to her that she has received the max, they cannot increase her salary. she accepted the offer so she can still have a job with benefits and priviledges. when she came home, she told me what happened and explained to me that she cannot be choosy anymore. the important thing is she still have a job and both of us have our helath insurances.
