The Day I wanted to be Darna and the evolution of the Darna costumes

Dear mouse,
According to wiki, DARNA is a fictional character and superheroine created by Filipino komiks (Philippine colloquial term for comics) legend Mars Ravelo. In her more popular incarnations, she is a warrior from outer space manifesting herself through a girl from Earth, named Narda. It was created July 23, 1947, when most of us were not even born yet.

Nah, I did not wish to be Darna to save the world from evil impaktos and aliens from outer space. When I was a student, I used to walk with my friends from school to home whenever the jeepney associations decided to bring the people to offices and schools in the morning and then parked their vehicles to join the transport strike in the afternoon leaving commuters stranded.

I wished to find the stone of Narda (“Ding, ang bato!” (“Ding, [give me] the stone!”) so I can morph to DARNA and fly home. My classmates liked to ride on my back. I decided just to walk with them. nyahahah. Ginawa pa akong sasakyan.

Besides, I can not afford to wear the Darna costume. Those days, I need the breast enhancement surgery to make that top part of the uniform not to look like a big band aid covering two small boils. hahaha. batok sa sarili.
These days, I need the nip and tuck to wear the shrinking costume of Darna.

Evolution of the Costume of Darna

This is the picture of Rosa del Rosario, the first actress to portray Darna in 1951.

This is the picture of the- now- Governor- Vilma-Santos-wife-of-Ralph-Recto-mother-to-Lucky-Manzano who is the boyfriend of the previous TV Darna, Angel Locsin. Notice the costume.

This is the picture of the current Darna, Marian-Rivera-who is the-girl friend-of-Dingdong-Dantes-who was-formerly the boyfriend of Karyll who is the daughter of ZsaZsa Padilla. Nah, ZsaZsa did not portray Darna. Her cousin Lorna Tolentino did and her domestic partner Dolphy played the gay Darna. zing.

She could win in the Swimsuit competition in the Miss Universe 2009.

By the way, there were other actresses who played the Darna role.

They are Gina Pareno, Liza Moreno, Eva Montes, Nanette Medved, Rio Locsin and Anjanette Abayari.

Nung bata pa ako, nag-wish din ako na maging darna. ayaw ko lang lunukin yung bato kasi madumi. Ang napagdiskitahan ko e yung rosebud ng tanim ng nanay ko. E ayaw kong lunukin kasi baka nakakalason yun. Ang ginawa ko, ipinasok ko na lang sa ilong ko. Tapos sabay sigaw ng darna. Sa kasamaang palad, hindi naman ako nag-transform. Nahirapan pa akong alisin ang rosebud sa ilong ko.

matindi dala ang influence sa atin ng Darna. noong bata pa ako pagnakakarinig ako ng mga krimen, iniimagine ko na si Darna ako.

pag ako may nafefeel na inapi ako, iniimagine ko si Darna ako at pagbubuntalin ko sila lahat. Escapist din ako anoh.

Ngayon si Darna, pinagpapantasiyahan pa rin. pero ng mga lalaki. kita mo naman ang ibinagsak noong uniforme niya pababa. hehehe

natatawa ako sa mga hirit mo mam caT. benta sa akin lalo na ang impaktos at gagawin kang sasakyan, hindi ko inexpect ang mga yan kaya natawa talaga ako, hahaha. konting lundag ni marian, fiesta na ang mga manyak (di ako kasama hehe)
