Dear mouse,
This is not a paranormal story. The ghosts that I encountered talked. These ghosts write and blog too. OO Matilda they are ghost bloggers.
I am referring to the phenomenon when a celebrity suddenly acquires the genius of a best seller author to weave a fascinating story about her/his life (although most of them are “manufactured”) to inject suspense, romance on otherwise boring narration. Ooops to add, I am referring to the ghost writers of best seller authors. Confusing. Nah. Not all those best seller authors write the novels that you read. They got ghost writers too. Then the best seller authors read and say okay for the publication.
Btw, I am a ghost writer too for my human superior. So if you do not read anything about subjects of her expertise in this blog, that’s because, it’s me her cat that is writing. If you observe that her profile was updated, it is because she has lost her patience trying to debate with people on the subjects where she can lecture you non-stop without blinking. That’s a warning. Do your assignment before you ever talk about topics she knew by heart.
Why the topic on ghost writing? Because if for the first time The Buzz got the exclusive interview with Yilmaz (for the past months, their ekslusibo means they were always the last one to get the “ebidensiya, sorry I digress) the blogosphere is abuzz with ghostwriting issue.
Frankly, I don’t care if the parents ghost write for their children who are too young to blog. Some of these parents/bloggers created the blogs for posterity purposes. Tipong paglaki nila, sasabihin nila, Tatay, bakit mo naman dinispley ang aking… noong bata pa ako.
The entries are usually short. It’s just like a caption for the picture or pictures. Some write about the “firsts”. Iba kaaliw basahin. Just like Watson’s Jo-lo. Parang kailan lang ng nakita ko siyang nakabalot pa at maliit na baby, ngayon pasaway na pagreretrato. You are reminding that my biological clock is ticking. Salbaheng bata. :)
BUT, if you want me to believe that children write those long and well constructed sentences in some blogs, I will advise you to take a hike. Lakarin mo mula Maynila hanggang San Fernando at pagbalik mo madiin pa ring HINDI ang isasagot ko. But then I would not condemn the parents if they do ghostwrite for their children just like when I did not publish ( I just asked for the ghost blogger to stand up) nor look for the ghost writer of the nine year old blogger who I found to be the first to make journals as early as 1996. Too good to be true to believe that those were the writings of a little girl who must still be playing her favorite Barbie Doll. Then the mother started blogging. Sherlock Holmes, your services are no longer needed. Ethical blogging? Espleyn to me please. Dahan-dahan, mahina ang aking pang-unawa.
As I have written some months back, my seven-year old nephew won an Essay-Writing Contest. Many people were surprised. I wasn’t. Her mom was winning Presidential Medal for Invention when she was a 15 year old student of a Science High School in the Philippines. (Ahem, this is not a sponsored post).
My first article that was published was written when I was in third year high school. Either it was well edited or I was under trance when I was composing it that I could not believe myself that I wrote it. My mom brought a copy of the article whenever she visited relatives. She believed in me. My teacher in History could not believe either that I was the writer, her shy student (shy lang pag hindi mo pinansin ang suot niyang colored bobby socks) she showed the article to my classmates.
I lost that enthusiasm to write when my mom discouraged me from taking up Journalism. Gutom daw ang aabutin ko. Mother knows best. As a professional my writings were limited to business plans, corporate stategies, financial reports which hardly use adjectives and big words to make them very objective and free from the biases and opinions of the writer.
