UNION STATION WASHINGTON DC-police cars are all over

Dear mouse,

I was about to take the Massachussets exit from the Union station when I saw police cars and uniformed men and women cops outside the station.

The place is immaculately clean and cool. what was that tiny housefly doing in that place anyway. It could not be a terrorist. bwaahaaha. I took a look at the soles of my shoes just in case. Haaa, malinis.

So first let me start my story.

I got an appointment at 10:00 in the morning, a block away from the Union Station. My brother left early with his Explorer.
I found out that I can still use my BMW here in D.C. as I had used it in San Francisco and Bay area, Cali. B stands for BART(Bay Area Rapid Transport), M for MUNI (the bus system) and W for my two legs who negotiated the “rugged”Terrain of the Streets of San Francisco. funny noh? corny for my friend A_t.
Here in DC, the acronym stands for B for BUS, M for METRO and W for my two reliable legs that are starting to get used to walking kilometric long street blocks in the city.

I boarded the train and I overheard that the train stopped for several minutes in the Ronald Reagan stations. You know that the security alerts have been raised in all US airports after the British Police thwarted a major terror plot.

I got to the station

at a little before nine o clock. Yes Virginia, I am always one hour ealier for appointments. Yes, I am a killer. (Toink toink toink) I killed time while waiting by reading my newly- bought book entitled DUH, The Stupid History of Human Race. bwahaha. Every now and then, I would look at the little boy playing a few feet away. Cute talaga ng mga bata pag bata pa. May magnet talaga ako sa mga bata, he kept on smiling and teasing me to play with him peek-a-boo. Siguro tingin nila sa akin mukhang angel.tehehehe.

Infront of me are the Discovery Channel store and an art store which name reminds me of a friend. FRAMING.

Time to go. I went to the ladies room to change from casual to business suit. Aba kung sinuot ko na yon, di para na rin akong pumasok sa sauna sa init. Then I went straight to Massachussets exit. Waaah, they directed me to take the other exit. I was about to ask them what’s wrong. Then I saw several TV channels vans in the other corner. I’ll be late in my appointment so I just thought, I will make UZI later.

The police cars and police were now occupying not only the corner streets of the station but also other blocks.A lady told me that there is a bomb scare. Whooo. I decided to go to the Postal Museum to see the stamp collection of John Lennon. I did not see it. The tours have been suspended. We were only a handful inside the museum. I did not find the collection because I was sidetracked by the letters that were preserved for more than 50 years already, letters from soldiers and their families during World War 1, II and recently the Desert Storm.

The letters reminded me of my mother. The way they crossed their t’s and dotted their “i”s–the way the letters were carefully written, slanted and well shaped.

Then the expected happened. I made a wrong exit at the train station. I got lost. bwohohoo. What’s new. But a Cat will always find its way home.
